I Want To Home School My Child

Your child has come home for the third day in a row with a black eye. Or your child is lagging behind the other kids in class because the teacher doesn’t have time to give him or her special attention. Or your child is learning a lesson at school that you don’t agree with and you wish you could tailor the lesson plan so that he or she only learns what you want him or her to. All of these are great reasons for saying, “I want to home school my child.” Many parents say, “I want to home school my child,” but they don’t know how to go about it. I know there are tons of homeschoolers out there.  I know that atleast 50% when asked how is homeschooling, they say…”oh it is great!  I just love it.”  I also believe at least 40% of those aren’t telling the truth.

Fred Atkins is a retired small-business owner living in Cary, North Carolina.
