Working parents have more reason to feel guilty about their kids. A recent survey carried out on a sample 3,000 working couples in various companies across cities by Assocham’s Social Development Foundation, found that couples spend a majority of the time in office. “A working woman spends nearly 10 hours in office, over 2.5 hours in traveling, 6-7 hours sleeping & three hours during household chores. This leaves her with barely 30 minutes in a day for her kids, “says Venugopal N Dhoot, Chairman,Assocham.
With little supervision from parents, children are turning to other options, says Dhoot. “TV, computer games, DVD & junk food are popular with kids, instead of outdoor activities, “he says.
Parents who work long or irregular hours are not available for children after school, especially to help with the home work, not able to attend school functions or sports days and not even able to do things together on weekends,” the survey points out.
It’s wise for the parents to spend more time with their kids to build their children as brilliant for the country. Without spending minutes with their children as they seem to be very busy and expecting all celebrities from their kid is an odd talk. Kids are now a day’s helpless. They are unable to get a human friend to play with them and speak about the whole things of the noble world so that he can recognize him and the vibrant world around him. Not a single minute is saved for the parents to give. So, maids are appointed to take care of the child. Is that everything for the child? Is that justice to being a father and mother without culturing fatherhood or motherhood?
Child has to see the objects of the world. Why does a child more often crakes a toy? Because, he wants to find out the sound where it comes from. Why does a child insert finger into a hole in the earth or a wall? To experience what lies in it. He has to recognize one by one object, from the grass to a big plant; from a egg to a big elephant. He wants to play and play more. Because, he wants to learn more. And more heart rending sight is that the society cannot give a friend to play with him. He is alone now. The nuclear family has made him alone to experiment this world isolated.
More often in many families parents, they fight each other in front of the child which becomes another hazard for the child. He misunderstands himself and cries for himself. Most educated parents in fact fight more time. And the children of those elite parents only suffer more because of over enlightened intelligence. Thus life has to share more with our children to produce them as better people in the next generation of life. Complaining against others without seeing our own mistakes of parenthood is a blind life. Life from generation to generation is to be taken care very much. Human beings, especially children need more care and sharing. Understanding this living philosophy is called the true life.
